Common Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept Aetna, Cigna, Oxford, United Healthcare, Oscar Health, and BCBS of TN. Once scheduled, you will be contacted by the billing department to confirm benefits and be notified of your co-pay or co-insurance responsibilities.

We also see additional commercial insurances out-of-network. This means the client pays the private pay rate, we provide you with a superbill to provide to your insurance to request reimbursement. They may reimburse you a portion of the rate. We suggest reaching out to your insurance prior to scheduling to discuss your out-of-network benefits prior to scheduling an appointment.

We are prohibited by law from seeing those with medicare or medicaid plans as self-pay clients.

What sets you apart from other mental health providers?

At Pathways, our clients are heard and respected. Clients are given treatment options and psychoeducation. The provider takes the time to get to know the client and views each client in a holistic manner. An emphasis is placed on ruling out and treating underlying causes of symptomology. Nutrition, supplements, psychotherapy, and complimentary treatments are frequently recommended parts of the treatment plan. The client and provider will work TOGETHER to reach client identified goals.

Does integrative psychiatry mean you will not prescribe medication?

Our provider does utilize psychotropic medications as appropriate. The time is taken to get to know the client to ensure the use of medications is appropriate.  The provider does make every effort to avoid/minimize polypharmacy. The goal is to treat the client appropriately and minimize risk/side effects.  The client will always participate in a benefit versus risk discussion prior to any medication being prescribed. These medications are often a vital component of treatment and can be life changing.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

While our rates are below the state average, we do understand the financial struggles many individuals are experiencing at this time. We do offer a limited number of openings at a reduced rate for those who are uninsured. This is based on annual income and the number of individuals residing in the home.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We realize things come up. We ask that you provide a 24 hour notice. Clients can cancel and reschedule via the patient portal.  Cancellations without a 24 hour notice are subject to a $75 fee. This is the client's responsibility and is not paid by insurance.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, debit cards, American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, HSA, FSA.

Are there any services that you do not provide?

We do not provide addiction treatment, IOP, PHP, urgent care, or crisis management. As a general rule we do not provide ESA letters or long term disability paperwork.
